Maintenance

This is the form that is used to run the archiving process. The Repository and Provider settings need to be completed before the process can be initiated.

Open JIWA Systems Archiving Archiving Maintenance

Use the New button to create a new Archiving Maintenance or use the binoculars to search for an existing one .

Each Archiving Maintenance can have multiple tasks. To add a new task to an existing item (or to edit an existing task), double right click on the line and a task properties form will pop-up.

Creating an Archiving Maintenance Task

Steps

1. Give the new task a name.
2. Tick the "Enabled" check box if this task is to run on the next execution of the Archiving Maintenance.
3. Give the task a Description (not compulsory).
4. Set the parameters. The options that are available can be viewed by using the Up-Arrow at the end of the line and will depend on the options created in the Provider Maintenance.
5. Tick "SimulateOnly" to do a trial run to check how many records will be affected by the archiving process.
6. Click on "OK" to close this form and return to the previous screen.

Executing Archiving

Steps

1. Check that the Archive Maintenance and the Task that needs to be executed are enabled and that nothing else is enabled.
2. Check that the "SimulateOnly" is turned on in the task if a trial run is required to test the archiving.
3. Go To Record Execute Now.
4. The History Tab will give the results of the Execution. The report details information such as number of rows affected, time taken etc.

Scheduling an Archive to run Automatically

Steps

1. On the Scheduling Tab, double right click on an existing item to edit it, or start typing in the name of a new schedule to new one.

Complete the form "Job Schedule Properties" to set up a recurring Archiving regime.
