Period Closure

There is no processing procedure as such for the period end for the General Ledger.  The settings in the field Locked control which postings are accepted by the ledger.

• Open - allows postings to the ledger from all modules
• External Locked - postings from the other modules e.g. purchase invoicing are excluded - will accept only postings from the ledger  
• Global Locked - does not accept any postings

Steps

1.	General Ledger Configuration Setup
2.	Select relevant option from the drop down box against the appropriate period
3.	Repeat as required
4.	Save the changes
