Change of Status

There are five status for inventory records.

Normal - the stock is active and available for sale, purchase orders, stock transfers etc.
Slow - moving stock. The stock is active and available for sale, however setting this status enables the part numbers to be targeted for reporting and promotional purposes. They can also be excluded from automatic purchasing
Obsolete - the inventory part is no longer produced and a replacement equivalent may or may not exist. The part number can still have stock on hand when changing the status to Obsolete. It can be sold and still appears in the sales order inventory search window. A message will appear indicating that the part is Obsolete. Obsolete items can also be excluded from automatic purchasing
Discontinued - the line is no longer stocked. a replacement equivalent may or may not exist. Tehe status cannot be changed to Discontinued if there is stock on hand or on back order. The item still appears in the Sales Order inventory search window and the part number can be selected. A message will appear indicating that the part has been discontinued and that replacements exist
Deleted - the stock is no longer available and no equivalent or alternate item exists. The status cannot change to Deleted if back order requests or stock on hand exist or there are outstanding quotes or purchase orders for the item. The item does not appear in any search windows other than from the Inventory Maintenance screen.

Steps

1.	Inventory Maintenance
2.	Select the inventory record from the search windows
3.	Select new status from the list box
4.	Save changes
