Credit Limits
There are two methods of applying credit restrictions
on debtor accounts:
- establishing
a credit limit; and/or
- placing the account
on hold
These restrictions affect the creation and saving of sales
orders as follows:
- where the order
exceeds the credit available, a message displays advising the fact.
The user can still continue with the order, save and process it.
- where the account
has a credit status of On Hold, a message displays advising the account
is on hold and the invoice will not be able to be saved unless system
settings permit the form to be saved as an order.
There is a system setting under Invoicing that also impacts the application of credit limits
- UseZeroCreditLimit - by default this is un-ticked. Tick this option if not setting a credit limit means the customer has a zero dollar credit limit - e.g. cash sale customers
- AllowSaveToReserveOrderWhenDebtorOnHold - when ticked, allows the sales order to saved with the document type of Reverve Order. The sales order cannot be processed until the customer is taken off Hold and the sales order changed to Invoice Order or Active Order
